John-Wako Hawk Co-Cke’ BS CAMS CBHCM, Ordained Christian minister, proudly embraces his Indian heritage as a member of the government Osage, Peoria tribes, non-Government of the Blackfeet, Cheyenne, Lakota, Muscogee-Creek Nations He/she is a proud 2Spirit traditional straight and southern cloth dancer.

John-Wako is a suicide prevention specialist for the Muscogee Creek Nation of Oklahoma. Wako-John is the leader of the Okmulgee/Tulsa 2Spirit support group. John-Wako also is the spiritual advisor and Elder for the Dennis R Neil equality center’s Indigi-Queer Support group. John-Wako has also worked in the HIV-AIDS Prevention and Education at Muscogee-Creek Nation. Having gained notoriety on a national scale as a learned and gifted speaker. Wako-John educates passionately for LGBT-2spirit suicide prevention. Wako-John also on the honorable heritage of our 2spirit people held in various tribes.

John-Wako has made it his mission to educate others: on the importance of respecting oneself, loving and taking care of oneself. John Wako also teaches healthy relationships and the interpersonal skills needed to achieve long term commitments, and on the important roles that two spirit peoples held in their tribes. Most importantly, John -Wako lives by one maxim that he teaches wherever he goes: Traditionally speaking, no one was discarded or thrown away and all people were valued and brought value to the tribe. It is this reverence that John-Wako has for traditional ways and the beauty he sees in all people.
