Ms. Moore is a graduate of Meharry Medical College’s School of Dentistry and Tennessee State University’s College of Allied Health Professionals. She served the State of Tennessee as a health educator and contract compliance director. At the time of her retirement in 2015, after thirty-two (32) years of service, she held the position of Director of Non-discrimination Contract Compliance and Health Care Disparities for the State of Tennessee’s contractedTennCare/Medicaid Programs.
In that position it was her responsibility to assist the TennCare/Medicaid Programs, on a state wide basis, with meeting their federally mandated assurances of non-discrimination and cultural competency in the health care services they provided directly or through contractual agreements with sub-contractors. That goal was achieved by providing compliance training to the Programs related to: non-discrimination and cultural competency in the provision of federally funded health services. The training was based on the fundamentals of compliance with Title VI, Title IX, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Currently, Ms. Moore is working with Middle Tennessee faith leaders, legislative representatives and universities on establishing a strong platform that will educate the public on the current disparities surrounding health care for men and that will encourage men to seek preventive health care services. In addition, she was a founding member of the organization Women Against Prostate Cancer.
Along with her focus on health care she serves as the Assistant Chair of the Deaconess Ministry of Nashville’s Mt. Nebo Baptist Church and shares eight-teen grandchildren and one great grand daughter with her husband Kenneth Robinson. Ms. Moore joined the TMHN Board of Directors in 2017.
