Director of Community Engagement

Darryl Davidson is the Director of Community Engagement at the City of Milwaukee. He leads Mayor Tom Barrett endorsed Milwaukee Fatherhood Initiative, a collaborative partnership of agencies focused on father engagement, case management toward empowerment, and strengthening communities. He oversees programs, education, and collaborative outreach activities related for teen males and men via the Black Male Achievement Advisory Council and convenes and facilitates the Milwaukee’s Men’s Health Referral Network dedicated to improving the physical, mental, emotional, and economic outcomes of men and boys.
Darryl is a trainer and curriculum designer for course work in men’s health and child development and he values culturally appropriate client-centered approaches when solving problems related to communicable diseases, economic security, and family and community health. Darryl attributes his past work in public health sexual health, HIV education, adolescent health, and domestic violence prevention as the glue that allows success in his present activities.
He maintains membership with the National Men’s Health Network and the American Public Health Association’s Men’s Health Caucus. He is the planning chair with the Milwaukee Fatherhood Initiative’s annual Fatherhood Summit.
Darryl has received degrees and professional certifications from Howard University, Southern Illinois University, and Emory University. He is a past National Faculty Member and Curriculum Developer for the Disease Prevention Education Unit of the National American Red Cross.
