Dr. Salvatore Giorgianni, PharmD

Dr. Salvatore (Sal) Giorgianni received his Bachelor and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from Columbia University in The City Of New York. He has extensive experience in all aspects of the practice of pharmacy and has had held faculty appointments at Columbia and Belmont Universities. He has completed a clinical practice residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Dr. Giorgianni is a licensed pharmacist in his home state of New York and in Florida he holds both a general and consultant pharmacist license.

In addition to his general and specialist studies in pharmacy he has completed formal training in pharmacognosy and the preparation and use of natural botanicals as well as pharmacogenomics and pharmaceutical compounding.

Dr. Giorgianni’s professional career includes 27 years at Pfizer Headquarters in New York City where he held various responsibilities in the medical, regulatory affairs, corporate planning and marketing groups. He was involved in the development and market launches of over 15 multi-billion-dollar products, including Viagra.

He is Senior Science Advisor to the national Men’s Health Network and co-founder and Chair-Emeritus of the American Public Health Association section on men’s health. He is author of over seventy publications and scientific presentations and is an editor/reviewer for the American Journal of Men’s Health. He is a recognized expert in the effect of culture, advertising and socialization on male perceptions of health and wellness and is a frequent speaker on this topic.

Dr. Giorgianni and his wife Joan moved to Florida in 1997 and to Melbourne in 2015 and is now semi-retired. To keep active, he, along with his wife Joan, brings his experience in health care, natural products and compounding to their Dragonfly Botanica Apothecary & Tea shop. The shop is located inside of One Senior Place in Melbourne/Viera. Here they provide Concierge Level Services for fine loose-leaf teas and essential oils.

Dr. Giorgianni, who is certified in Medication Therapy Management, also provides personalized consultations to patients to help maximize the benefits they receive from medications. In conjunction with his son, Dr. Stephen M. Giorgianni, he is involved in several other aspects of health care management, including helping patients with health care transitions.
