Dr. Salvatore (Sal) Giorgianni received his Bachelor and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from Columbia University in The City Of New York. He has extensive experience in all aspects of the practice of pharmacy and has had held faculty appointments at Columbia and Belmont Universities. He has completed a clinical practice residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Dr. Giorgianni is a licensed pharmacist in his home state of New York and in Florida he holds both a general and consultant pharmacist license.

Dr. Jean Bonhomme, MD, MPH

Dr. Bonhomme is Founder of the National Black Men’s Health Network and an expert on men’s health, minority health, the impact of poor men’s health on families. From 2003 to the present, he has served as corporate president and Chairman of the Steering Committee for CHAMPS (Community Health and Men’s Promotion Summit), providing free health screenings to economically disadvantaged minority males. Also from 2003 to the present, he has served as staff physician for Toxicology Associates of North Georgia (TANG), a drug treatment facility based in Marietta, Georgia. From 2004 to the present:, he has served on the editorial board of the Journal of Men’s Health, and from 2006 to the present on the editorial board of the American Journal of Men’s Health.

She comes to PCORI with more than 10 years of experience in public health and project management. Dr. John Dougherty

Dr. Dougherty is a Certified Physician Leader in Administration. He was selected for and completed a Senior Leadership Development Program, a National Health Policy Fellowship and holds a Certificate in Finance from the University of California, San Diego Rady School of Management. Deborah Frazier, RN

Deborah Frazier currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer for the National Healthy Start Association. Ms. Frazier has a stellar national reputation having spent 30 years of her professional career in the field of maternal and child health. She is a past member of the HHS Secretary’s Committee on Infant Mortality (SACIM), and the former Director of the Division of Child and Adolescent Health for the State of Arkansas. Ms. Frazier has a long and very rich history with Healthy Start and the Association serving as grantee evaluator, technical advisor to projects, Project Director for New Orleans Healthy Start, founding member of the Association and past board member. In her role as Co-Chair of the Association’s Development Committee, she was responsible for securing funding critical to the growth and expansion of the organization- establishing regional conferences, the Healthy Start Leadership Institute, and the Partnership Grant with AMCHP and CityMatCH.

Brandon Leonard, MA

Brandon Leonard is the Associate Director of Congressional Relations at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). In this role, he leads the AACR’s advocacy activities before Congress in support of increased federal funding for cancer research and legislation that will benefit those who are living with cancer. He has planned and led numerous advocacy events, including the annual Rally for Medical Research, which brings the entire medical research community together in support of funding for the National Institutes of Health. Prior to his current position, Brandon served as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Men’s Health Network, leading the organization’s policy and advocacy activities. He previously worked at the Foundation for Sustainable Development and in the Office of the Governor of Virginia.

Art Shanks, LCSW

Art Shanks’ long term goal is to support marginalized populations dealing with familial mental illness. In the past Shanks has worked to help implement restorative practices in innovative ways in several Chicago Public Schools. From September 2010 to August 2011 he provided trainings in restorative practices to over 250 students and CPS staff, while also directing and advising two schools’ restorative justice programs. He to created and implemented a leadership program/curriculum for high school students and helped students formulate a survey to gauge the impact of online social networking in conflicts at their school, and afterwards create a workshop/lesson plan to educate students on the pitfalls and opportunities of having an online presence.

Shamaal Sheppard, MPH

Shamaal Sheppard serves as the Grassroots Advocacy manager for the National Association of Community Health Centers. He recently completed his masters degree in Health Policy & Management at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. While there, Shamaal worked as a health coach and mentor for high schoolers in Harlem at BeWell Health. It was there that Shamaal gained an appreciation for community engagement and health education.

Jacy Warrell, MPA helps bring people and organizations together to improve health outcomes through programs, policy, and collaborations. She is a listener, strategic thinker, and achiever who maintains that the best way to bring about positive change is through community engagement, education, and pairing direct services with advocacy. Her start in public health began by working with Dr. Arthur Agatson, creator of South Beach Diet on a school-based nutrition and physical activity study. This program operated in both urban and rural areas in Florida, Mississippi, and New York led to school health policy reforms with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
